What our clients are saying!

Robin-

Thank you so much for all the work you've done in helping us train our German Shepherd Anna.  She's full of energy, we really had our hands full with her, and we were worried that she might not work out with us.  After 3 weeks in working with you though, she has made so much progress.  We are very happy!  Your training program has helped her understand what we expect of her, and she's getting along very well.  There is still work to be done, but you have definitely got things going in the right direction!  I think the two of us have learned almost as much as Anna has! It was definitely worth it. Thank you!

Robin,

Thank you for the wonderful training experience.  The outcome was more than I had hoped for and Gunner is a joy to be around since going through the classes.  While he still has his “puppy” moments, it is wonderful to be able to calm him down with the simple commands he and I have learned.  Everyone has commented that “he is a joy” to be around and is much calmer in general.  I’ll never forget his place command under the yellow slickers at Petco.

I would highly recommend you to anyone that wants a calmer, happier dog in their family and I look forward to participating in some of the group classes coming up.

Again, thank you for working with us.

2011

When we inherited our giant schnauzer, Isaac, last winter we knew he was a good dog. Isaac is gentle but also has lots of energy. He had been raised in a larger city, and his new environment on an Iowa acreage provided some challenges for him and us. It was difficult for Isaac to be outside without wanting to chase all of the chipmunks, squirrels, and deer traveling through our backyard. We knew Isaac had some training, but we didn’t know to what extent or what commands had been used. We were so appreciative of Robin’s help. He showed us how to work with Isaac so he could be outside in our yard and not be so consumed with the other four legged creatures. Due to his gentle and encouraging manner, Robin was exactly the type of trainer we were looking for to help us. His method of positive reinforcement made every class enjoyable for Isaac and us. It was amazing how Isaac seemed to know when Robin was coming for class and was so excited to see him. We appreciated Robin coming to our home at convenient times for class and focusing on Isaac’s needs. Isaac seems more engaged and responsive with us and our friends because of the connections he made during Robin’s training. We would highly recommend Robin for any type of dog and “people” training!

Sincerely,

Hans

2011

Dear Robin,

Just a note to tell you how deeply we appreciated all your great training with our German Shepherd puppy, Hans!  You really got us going in the right direction with him.  He now heels "off-leash" with even my daughter;  when we started he was had become difficult to walk on a leash to the point where even I didn't enjoy it much (constant pulling on the leash and aggression to other dogs).  We especially appreciated how you trained my family and myself to understand Han's perspective.  We also appreciated your teaching a firm but kind approach.  It was clear you really know dogs, people, and how to teach a family!  We thank God for your help!

  Sincerely,

John, Sara and Molly, Elizabeth, Abigail, and Rebecca Brownell                                                                                             Hiawatha IA.

Teddy

2011

  Mr. Moulds:

We are delighted with the training you provided for US and for our dog, Teddy.  You can train the dog to do your bidding, but your technique made it possible for us to continue training using your technique and our little dog, once a "terrorist", is now a loved member of our family and doing so very well with his feline siblings.   Your kind yet firm technique is truly effective and remarkable.  Teddy was delighted to see you every week, and he learned so much in those sessions.  The entire program is invaluable to any dog owner.  Best of luck to you.  We truly appreciate all you did for our family.                                                                                                                      Cary and Kristin Beatty                                                                                                                                                                                              North Liberty IA.

Chipper

4/20/2010

Hi Robin,

We just wanted to thank you for all the hard work and effort you have put in to help us with training our Australian Shepherd, Chipper. When we first called you to inquire about training, we weren’t sure that we were going to be able to keep Chipper. He had been to puppy school and knew the basic training commands, but his behavior with visitors to our home was overwhelming us. You assured us that once we assumed the “alpha” role and Chipper gained some confidence (and frankly us as well), things would improve. Thanks to your guidance, Chipper is now a much better behaved dog in all areas, and has made great progress with people that come to visit. We really appreciate that you were willing to go above and beyond to stick with the training when we were still not comfortable with the situation. It is a great comfort to know that if we encounter any more training issues, you are just a phone call away! It was truly a pleasure to work with you!

Thanks!

BRUNO

We just got back from Bru's therapy dog gig.  He did very well.  He was very excited before we left, but then he calmed down.  He sat very well for these pictures.  I put him on a sit/stay, and he posed for me.  He loves to have his picture taken.  He's a natural therapy dog.

I want to thank you for all your help training Bruno.  He failed miserably at 2 other obedience classes.  He would have never made his therapy dog certification without the help of Alpha House K9s.  You truly are the dog whisperer of Jones County.  He is a well behaved, obedient dog now.  It was well worth the 70 mile drive to train with you.  I rate your training program A+.  I recommend your training method for anyone who has a stubborn, hard-to-train dog.  With your guidance, I learned how to train Bruno the right way.

Thanks again!

Nala & Clair

2009

Claire and Nala are doing great.  Nala turns 1 on Saturday!  Nala was the naughtiest puppy I have ever had, she was out of control.  I put her through three obedience training classes and although there was significant improvement I was still not quite satisfied with certain areas of her behavior.  Once Nala started training with the e-collar she improved dramatically.  She minds me much better now and is not as fearful towards strangers.

Claire is doing great as well.  She is not as hesitant anymore to go her "place".  Both Claire and Nala are much improved on walks too.  And it is much easier to have people come to the door now without being bombarded by a couple of Border Collies.  Thanks Robin, you did a fantastic job training us so we could better train our dogs.  See you this summer for a little guidance at the Farmer's Market!

Thanks,

Kristine, Debbie and Scott

Milly

Milly does exactly what Old English Sheepdogs are supposed to do.  She's inquisitive, lovable, mischievous and believes she is a small breed.  We were struggling with Milly's jumping and barking.  After Robin's first session in our home, Milly stayed off furniture and was quiet on command.

After seven weeks we had a new dog.  Robin trained our family as much as he did Milly.  Robin modeled  what he wanted us to do and gave us plenty of time to practice with Milly with his guidance.  Each week Robin came we reviewed what we had been learning and then he introduced new commands.

Robin even trained at a different location where we were having some difficulties.

Milly now takes great walks with us, stays in her yard, and understands her role in our family.  Our favorite is her "place" command.  Milly goes to her "place" when visitors come and even has a bench that's her "place" in the backyard.  When going for rides, it took Milly awhile to figure out the backseat was "place" instead of riding shotgun, but she's got it now.  We're glad Robin's just a phone call away for our next adventure with Milly.

JAZ

Robin,
We can not thank you enough for all your hard work and dedication with training our German Shepherd, Jaz.
Only 2 short months ago Jaz was presenting us with numerous challenges everyday.
We had difficulty taking her on walks, as she would pull on the leash and be easily distracted by anything around her.
She lacked basic manners, such as jumping on us when she would get excited and play biting when she wanted attention.
She was also very anxious and aggressive towards all guests that entered our home.  In the past we would be forced to keep her outside
or closed in a bedroom when guests would arrive.
I am so pleased to say that Jaz has made tremendous improvement in all of these areas and in addition, we are now able to walk her on
public trails without being nervous about her attacking people or other dogs.
Your training program was a tremendous success and our home is much more relaxed now that Jaz knows that WE are in control.
Thanks again!

Sincerely,
Mike Brown and Shirean Ealy

Roma

Robin,

Thank you very much for the training experience with our German Shepherd, Roma. He is a much better dog after having worked with you. His issues with dominant behavior have disappeared and he is the wonderful dog we hoped he would be. It was very helpful to work with him in different environments. Now the whole pack, including our 3 huskies, is very stable as well. Working with you has given all of us the tools we need to train all of our dogs. We also think your boarding facility is great and will only send our dogs your way in the future.

  Thanks again!
